Man Chokes, Threatens To Kill Victim With Knife In Westchester, Police Say

A 32-year-old is behind bars after a domestic dispute turned physical and he allegedly threatened to kill another man while choking him and displaying a large kitchen knife, Yorktown Police said in a media release.

Officers from the Yorktown PD were dispatched to a Stoney Street home at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Monday, April 23 where there was a report of an altercation in progress.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that Yorktown Heights resident Alexander Lieberman choked the male victim and allegedly threatened to kill him while displaying the knife, police said.

Lieberman was arrested at the scene and charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree menacing. 

Following arraignment, he was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. Lieberman is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on May 3 to answer the charges.
